Spot, Funding and available balances: read the account record
Read total, available and committed balances without treating Binance product buckets as network wallets or permanent categories.
You will learn
- Distinguish a centralized exchange ledger balance from an onchain wallet record.
- Reconcile total, available and committed amounts only within the same asset and account scope.
- Interpret a dated Binance.com Funding transition notice without applying it to Binance.US or future interface states.
Before you begin
Stand-alone guide; first identify the exact service and product.
First identify the service and the record
An exchange account balance is a service ledger entry. It is not automatically an onchain wallet balance. Binance.com and Binance.US are separate services with their own terms, features and interface labels; support statements for one do not establish the other. Even within Binance.com, a product page or region may have a different set of fields.
This guide explains how to read a documentary example. It does not open an account, reveal a live balance or establish which features are enabled for a person. Before relying on a screen, note the exact service domain, product area, selected asset, time and whether the entry is available, reserved or pending.
Evidence: Binance.com terms and ADGM entities · Binance.US terms and named operator · Understanding Your Accounts and Wallets
The page currently names Nest entities regulated in ADGM. This is evidence for the entities and scope stated on that page only, not a universal operator list or terms for every region, product or customer.
These are Binance.US terms, not Binance.com terms. The page names BAM Trading Services Inc. and related entities for those services; this does not establish the operator or user rights for another region or product. Read the terms applicable to the specific account and jurisdiction.
Binance.com product only, not Binance.US or another operator. Used for the existence of distinct custodial Exchange account buckets/internal transfers and for the fact that confirmation requirements vary by network. The page’s per-network counts, time estimates and interface steps can change; none are treated as universal or reproduced as a rule.
Total is not the same as immediately available
A product interface may distinguish total balance, available balance and funds committed to open orders or another product process. A useful reconciliation is: total = available + committed + any other separately displayed components, using the same asset and account scope. Never add different assets, currencies, subaccounts or product records just because their rows look alike.
The Binance.com Spot activity help article describes fields such as total, available and funds in order. Labels and interface behavior can change. A zero available amount can coexist with a nonzero total if the asset is committed or restricted; the cause must be read in that account’s own activity/hold details.

Funding labels can change; this notice is time-bounded
A Binance.com FAQ published 2026-09-23 and updated 2026-09-24 says non-stock assets in Funding began migrating to Spot from 2026-09-29 and describes a planned Funding-to-Stocks rename in January 2027, with staged P2P-related changes. The FAQ publication/update dates are not the migration start date. This is a dated Binance.com-specific notice, not a permanent definition of Funding or guidance for Binance.US or every region/account. Recheck the official notice and actual interface before acting; it can become stale.
A product name in a legacy article may no longer match the current screen. Preserve the record’s scope and date when citing it. Do not move, convert or withdraw an asset just to make a balance match a tutorial.

Solved fictional reconciliation
Fictional Binance.com Spot snapshot: AAA total 120; AAA available 70; AAA committed to open orders 50. The check is 70 + 50 = 120 AAA, so the Spot figures reconcile. No order or account was accessed; all asset names and numbers are invented.
A separate Funding-labeled row shows 30 BBB. Do not add it to 120 AAA: it is a different asset and product area, and the dated migration notice may affect labels. The example does not show whether BBB is withdrawable, eligible for conversion or available in a specific user’s account.

A safe read-only checklist
On paper, record service/operator, region, product page, asset/unit, timestamp, total, available, committed and any hold reason shown. Check that arithmetic uses one asset and one account scope. Then consult current official help for that product and region; do not infer eligibility, withdrawal support or onchain custody from a bucket name.
Comprehension check: total 120 AAA, available 70 AAA, in orders 50 AAA, plus 30 BBB in a separate bucket. Solution: the AAA Spot line reconciles to 120; BBB stays separate. The example proves no live product availability or transfer route.

Check your understanding
In a fictional Spot record, 120 AAA total equals 70 available plus 50 in orders. A separate Funding-labeled record shows 30 BBB. What reconciles, and what does not?
Show explanation
The Spot AAA components reconcile to 120 AAA. BBB is a different asset and account area and must remain separate. No live account availability, route or product eligibility is established.
